List of Healthy Food
260 Healthy Foods to Eat on a Whole Food Diet
Here's a list of healthy food to help you add variety to your whole food diet. Print it. Put it on your refrigerator. Use it as a grocery list. Never get bored with your menu again!
My mother had been telling me for years that I had a dairy sensitivity. Back in 2008 during my run on the vegan diet, I proudly announced to her that I had cut dairy out of my diet.
She promptly replied, "Great! Now, you need to cut out gluten."
Me: "What?! If I don't eat dairy, and I don't eat gluten, what else is left?!"
If you're wondering the same thing, here's a list of healthy food to help you add variety to your whole food diet.
Of course, all items are in keeping with the healthy eating guidelines:
- Whole foods,
- Gluten free, and
- Dairy free (except raw, unpasteurized dairy)
I've also included some supposedly healthy foods to avoid: foods that are usually touted as healthy but really aren't.
As this site grows, I'll add more information like
- How to select and store produce items,
- Nutritional information and health benefits,
- The best places to buy specialty items,
- And even how to grow your own food.
Subscribe to my blog or newsletter to make sure you get the information you want as it becomes available.
Print out this list and stick it up on your refrigerator. Use it as a grocery list or an idea generator to get out of "the same old food all the time" rut.
Experiment with your food. Try a new food each week. There are 260 items on this list: enough options to last you a couple years!
Liven things up! Mix and match. Try new combinations or a new preparation technique you've never tried before. Let your imagination run wild.
Bottom line: There's much more available than bread, pasta, and cereal. There's a whole world of whole foods out there waiting for you to come in and explore it.
Make your food exciting, and you'll make it easy to stick to a healthy, whole food diet.
And if you've got kids, show them there's more to healthy eating than rabbit food. You'll be giving them healthy habits to last a lifetime.
